Publications for Initial Accreditation or Reaffirmation

In order for an institution to be considered for first-time accreditation by the ATHEA Board of Commissioners, the institution must:

  1. Be granted ATHEA-Candidate status by the ATHEA Board of Commissioners.
  2. Prepare a self-evaluation. The self-evaluation template is available for members.
  3. Pay the application fee for accreditation to ATHEA.
  4. Undergo a site visit for peer review.
  5. Be reviewed by the ATHEA Board of Commissioners.

Reaffirmation of Accreditation

After 7 years following the date of accreditation, reaffirmation of accreditation is required in order for an institution to maintain its accredited status. In order for the institution to be considered for reaffirmation of accreditation by the ATHEA Board of Commissioners, the institution must:

  1. Be in good standing with ATHEA as an Institutional Member.
  2. Prepare a self-evaluation.
  3. Pay its application fee for reaffirmation of accreditation to ATHEA.
  4. Undergo a site visit.
  5. Be reviewed by the ATHEA Board of Commissioners.
