The University of Georgia (Tbilisi) granted Candidacy status

7 November 2024 – The University of Georgia (UG) in Tbilisi has officially been granted Candidacy Status by the Association for Transnational Higher Education Accreditation (ATHEA).


This recognition by ATHEA’s Board of Commissioners marks a significant milestone in UG’s journey toward full accreditation and highlights the University’s commitment to educational excellence on a global scale.

As a candidate institution, UG is now eligible to undergo a formal accreditation review, demonstrating its readiness to align with ATHEA’s rigorous international standards focused on continuous improvement and academic integrity.
